Contemporary Use of Soban to Project the Life of Our Ancestors. Kim Byeol Hee.
This is a small dining table which shows the lifestyle of our ancestors in the past. Now that we are not used to this in our lives, I am trying to combine the characteristics and shapes of the small dining table with modern uses and combine contemporary usage with modern usage. The 'warmth' in the title of my work has two senses: that is connotations of 'warm energy' and a 'warm thing'.

Ongi(warmth) tableware set: It is set of Warmer, Tea pot, Chaho, Mini Soban, and a mini mug for two-people.
Ongi(warmth) soban(small portable dining table): A miniature of a small dining table which shows the lifestyle and warmth of our ancestors in the past. Combined with modern usage, she wanted to achieve harmony between tradition and modernity. It is a 100% handcrafted work using white porcelain, and it is a versatile work that can be used as a dish and dishware.
Ongi(warmth)Warmer: This is a 100% handcrafted work using white porcelain, and it is a versatile work that can be used as a tea warmer and bowl.
Ongi(warmth) Spreader: It is a 100% handcrafted work using white porcelain and it is a tea spoon saucer that is made using a traditional Korean motif. It is a good size for putting tea spoon, fork and chopsticks.

과거 우리 조상들의 생활상을 투영하는 소반은 오래된 사물이 가지는 따뜻한 온기를 담고 있습니다. 이제는 생활에서 잘 쓰이지 않아 무심히 지나치기 쉬운 소반의 특성과 형태를 탐구하여 현대적인 쓰임과 결합해 전통과 현대의 조화를 이루고자 하였습니다.
작품제목의 온기는 ‘따뜻한 기물’과 ‘따뜻한 기운’이라는 중의적인 의미를 지니고 있습니다.

온기 소반 : 과거 우리 조상들의 생활상을 투영하는 소반은 오래된 사물이 가지는 따뜻한 온기를 담고 있습니다. 이제는 생활에서 잘 쓰이지 않아 무심히 지나치기 쉬운 소반의 특성과 형태를 탐구하여 현대적인 쓰임과 결합해 전통과 현대의 조화를 이루고자 하였습니다. 온기[溫氣] 다기세트의 소반만으로 구성된 작품입니다. 백자토를 사용한 100% 수공예 작품이며, 다식접시와 식기 소반으로 사용 가능한 다용도 작품입니다.
온기 워머 : 백자토를 사용한 100% 수공예 작품이며, 티 워머와 그릇으로 사용 가능한 다용도 작품입니다.
온기 수저받침 : 백자토를 사용한 100% 수공예 작품이며, 한국 전통적 문양을 모티브로 제작된 차 수저받침입니다. 티 스푼과 포크, 젓가락을 얹기에 좋은 크기로 제작되었습니다.
온기 다기세트 : 다기세트는 워머와 티팟,차호, 미니소반,미니찻잔으로 구성되어진 2인 세트입니다.
